You are invited to explore the Laced exhibition through a poetic guide by Ioney Smallhorne. hear Ioney weave her personal response to the exhibition whilst intertwining the contextual themes embedded artworks and installation.

There are three parts to Ioney’s response (Act 1, Act 2 and Act 2), all representing each space within of the exhibition. The response can be listened to as a guide whilst exploring the work in the show, and away from the gallery as a source for reflection about the artworks the themes that they represent.

Content warning: Act 2 contains some explicit language and description of sexual assault.

About Ioney Smallhorne:

As a dedicated Spoken Word Educator, Ioney Smallhorne encourages young people to harness the power of poetry to realise their own greatness, working in schools and community groups across the East Midlands. Ioney earned an MA in Creative Writing and Education at Goldsmiths University 2019. Ioney is also filmmaker, translating her poems to the screen. As a performer, she blends the political with the personal.
