Black Creatives Network

6 February 2020, 6pm - 8pm

New Art Exchange

This event is now sold out.

All Black Connect (ABC), NAEs young people's collective, present this event associated with their exhibition, A Black Canvas.

This event responds to a need to develop space for black creatives in Nottingham to network, with taster workshops focusing on entrepreneurship and sustaining creative businesses and ventures, a presentation by Freelance Engagement Curator Boseda Olawoye, and a live performance by songwriter and producer Benjamin Luhis.

ABC designed this event in response to their observations that beyond exploring conceptual, thematic, and artistic subject matter, creative people must also address financial and practical concerns related to creative practice.

Benjamin Luhis

Benjamin Luhis is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Nottingham. SOCIAL MUSIC is an exploration of jazz, raw funk, 70s R&B and electronic music. Created within the mindset of breaking away from the dependence on studio techniques such as looping or sampling, Benjamin Luhis has created a mini-album in which the listener will notice the organic qualities of the record and pick out those perceived imperfections on every new listen. His debut album SOCIAL MUSIC out on Super Music Collider Records and is available for download and stream from all online platforms now.

Boseda Olawoye
