DREAMING LIFE: AN INTRODUCTION TO LUCID DREAMING

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 14 Aug, 2021 at 12:00 am

Lucid Dreaming is the art and science of active dream exploration in which a dreamer is able to know that they are dreaming in order to experience and interact with the worlds of their dreams as if they are conscious. It is a field which opens up the infinite potential of the human imagination, allowing dreamers to be the architects of their own oneiric realities in real time.

This workshop serves as an introduction to the vast and often overlooked realms which we all explore in our sleep and aims to provide attendees with the basic skills and knowledge necessary to have an active and rewarding dreaming life, as well as encouraging the sharing and discussion of our dreams with one another as an important part of personal and communal well being. This workshop is lead by Adam Beaumont on behalf of Chaos Magic, Nottingham. Adam is an artist, occultist, and experienced dreamer.

Chaos Magic is an artist-run project space based in Nottingham. It is currently ran by artist/mentor Joey Holder, curator Wingshan Smith, and five artists: Adam Beaumont, Becky Greensides, Jessica Lonie, Dudley, and Harry Martin. Through a peer-to-peer learning network and mentorship members organise public arts community programmes spanning a diverse range of events, exhibitions, and workshops. The space is named after ‘Chaos Magic’ a belief system which aims to change reality through ritual practice. Members of the space view chaos magic as a tool through which a fairer world can be manifested through cooperation and inclusivity.
