Exhibition Launch: Hardeep Pandhal and Shiraz Bayjoo

18 January 2019, 6pm - 9pm

New Art Exchange

Join us for a first look at exhibitions by Shiraz Bayjoo and Hardeep Pandhal.

In Searching for Libertalia Bayjoo fills our Mezzanine Gallery with a pseudo archive of documentary film, photography and water-soaked imagery exploring the histories and legacies of colonialism in Madagascar. Pandhal presents Paranoid Picnic: The Phantom BAME, an exhibition of surrealist illustration and textile work in our Main Gallery using a sharp wit and often uncanny imagery to confront post-colonial trauma.

With a global soul DJ set by Omar Sultani and a free drink on arrival.

Pandhal's exhibition will also be launching at Primary from 5pm - 7pm. To allow visitors to easily visit both exhibitions, a limited number of free taxis to NAE will be available from 7pm. Please ask at Primary on arrival for details.
