Fempowerment

6 March 2020, 9.30am-2pm

New Art Exchange

Every year, women from all walks of life and faith will be coming together to celebrate International Women's Day. This year, come and celebrate with us at our Fempowerment event. Join us for inspirational talks by local women, try something new at our workshops, meet new friends, share opinions, and enjoy free food!

Please note that this event will start at Hyson Green Community Centre and will take place at both the Community Centre and New Art Exchange.

We have two guest speakers, both of whom are local women who have succeeded in business:

Beverley Burton - Founder of Equiped2succeed programme which creates training programmes that enable people to find their own brilliance and create their own positive future.

Bhavna Sohal – Director of Visage Beauty, a local beauty business which Bhavna has set up and developed since 1995.

The workshops include:

Self-care - exploring the importance of self-care and finding time to take care of yourself.

Dance-Fit - a relaxed and fun dance session to build confidence and physical fitness.

Arts & Activism – Creating artwork that helps women to positively express their rights, hopes and aspirations.

FREE Drop in | Women only

The event has been supported by: New Art Exchange, Nottingham Equal, Nottinghamshire Constabulary, Nottingham City Council, Self Help UK, Nottingham Muslim Women's Network, and Mojatu Foundation.
