Nottingham Arts Mela in collaboration with Jam Café, Hockley welcomes Jasmine Rodgers and Mendi who offer a unique blend of folk guitar and vocals with south Asian tabla.

Jasmine Rodgers

Jasmine Rodgers is a folk singer and guitarist who has performed as a professional artist at numerous festivals such as Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and as part of Venice Biennale in 2011. She performed at Nottingham Mela in 2012, and gigs at venues all over the UK.

Mendi plays tabla

Mendi

A classically trained tabla player and composer. Brought up in Birmingham, he has performed both in the classical environment as well as collaborating with western Asian bands. Notable collaborations include Pandit Shalil Shankar - disciple of the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar), Peter Gabriel and Ustade Fateh Ali.
