Saturday Art Club
5 October 2019, 10.30am - 12.30pm
New Art Exchange
Kick start your Saturday with these drop-in creative workshops. The perfect chance to get creative as a family, this season we're taking inspiration from John Akomfrah's multi-screen installation Mimesis: African Soldier. Using a variety of materials, the activities will draw on themes of remembrance, war and loss. Get playful and inspired on Saturday mornings by making together as a family.
In this week at Saturday Art Club we'll be building Chattri Temples! The Chattri memorial is dedicated to the members of the Indian Army who fought in the First World War. It is the first place in the UK where Gurkha soldiers were commemorated. We can build our own temples from cardboard and recycled objects to then paint and decorate.
Aimed at ages 4—7
Ages 0—10 welcome
