Saturday Art Club

18 January 2020, 10.30am-12.30pm

New Art Exchange

Kickstart your Saturday with these drop-in creative workshops. The perfect chance to get creative as a family, this season we're taking inspiration from Shezad Dawood's multidisciplinary exhibition Encroachments and Dawinder Bansal's living-room-shop installation Jambo Cinema. We'll be building structures, playing with analogue technologies, textures and fabrics, and thinking about our family stories.

This session is called 'No-Sew Blankets'. Using a range of fabrics and techniques inspired by the wallpaper and tapestries from Shezad Dawood's exhibition, we will create our own cosy blankets, shapes and quilts by cutting and tying together the loose edges and weaving through holes to make tapestry style patterns.

This creates a sensory experience and a social space for people to relax and be creative simultaneously.

Aimed at ages 4—7
