Located in Madagascar, the six Rainforests of the Atsinanana contain over half of the island's endemic animals – species that exist nowhere else in the world. We will look at images that show the deforestation in this area, and the difference between the lush and barren landscapes that reduce the resources for local tribal groups such as the Merina. Using books and images as inspiration, we will draw and build our own canopies and rivers containing the many different species including Lemurs, tropical birds, insects, and spiders.
To do this we will use materials found in the home, recycling them to reduce waste that could end up in oceans around the world. We will use paint, glue, cutting and sticking and work together to build a rainforest that has many diverse ideas!
There are limited places, please book a slot for each member of your household or group including adults and children. This is to allow for social distancing and to adhere to new room capacity restrictions.
