Activist Ola Awosika is renowned for online beauty reviews that create caring spaces to talk about serious social issues in a challenging world; from hand creams and homophobia to serums and smashing the patriarchy.

Join us for a workshop using humour and quality skin products to explore how activists can take care of their physical and mental wellbeing offline.

Ola Awosika identifies as an intersectional and veritable crossroads of identities who is knowledgeable about a large constellation of world issues, including global feminism, war, racism, Black liberation, LGBTQ+ issues, global hunger, and the rights of the Indigenous. A social media agitator and self-proclaimed big mouth, Ola is not afraid to use his various social platforms to speak out about racism, transphobia and homophobia. Ola discusses the intersections of living as a gay black man under the alias ‘Your Token Black Friend’, commenting on racism and exclusionary practices in the gay community, whilst also using using humour and skincare to challenge social issues through his self-produced Youtube series. A regular contributor to Noctis Magazine Ola has interviewed musicians such as Mnek and Mahalia.
