SOFIA YALA: STORIES BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 2 Jun, 2021 at 12:00 am

Join artist Sofia Yala for an experimental montage workshop that taps into your imagination and tests your gaze.

What can you learn from an archive and photograph? Why are archives crucial in understanding the present and potential futures?

Influenced by time capsules, Stories Behind The Photograph will support you to activate or recreate your own memories and experiences using archival material such as family photographs, letters, and magazines. Montage could be seen as the process of assembling fragments, and in this session, you will select different textures and elements to reflect your identity as an individual and as someone connected to different cultures and communities.

Please ensure that as a parent/career you have read NAE’s guidelines for online sessions here.

Tuesday 1 June & Wednesday 2 June, 10.30am-12pm. Ages 7-10.

Free | Online via Zoom |’ Booking Required | Limited Capacity
