New Art Exchange

WORDS OUT is a carnival of words led by global majority people showcasing, supporting, and celebrating BAME artists working in various word-based artforms — poets, writers, playwrights, visual artists, filmmakers, songwriters.

We are proud to host the launch of WORDS OUT. Join us for an evening with a keynote speaker, Caribbean buffet, and a special performance by internationally recognised feminist dub poet and activist d'bi.young anitafrika.

d'bi.young anitafrika

d'bi.young anitafrika is a globally renowned dub poet, theatre practitioner and dramatist, committed to creating and nurturing art that ritualises acts of recovery from violence inflicted upon the people and the planet. She is the founding Artistic Director Emeritus of the Watah Theatre for emerging and established Black, Indigenous, queer, trans, non-binary and diverse artists. Addressing issues of gender, sexuality, race, class and the human experience, d'bi.young has written, performed and published four collections of poetry, nine plays and seven Dub poetry albums.
