YOUnique Festival 2020

YOUnique is an exciting arts festival organised by, and for, young people in Nottingham. It is a chance for us to come together, share our creativity, celebrate who we are and express our views on issues that matter to us. Come along on the day and take part in creative workshops, see artwork and enjoy performances created by young people across the city.
This year’s festival theme is Identity: Who Am I?
Workshops (12pm – 3pm)
Self Portraits – Join artist Shamila Chady to create large scale self portraits using collage and paint. (12pm – 3pm)
Beatbox & Spoken Word – Express yourself at our Beatbox and Spoken Word workshops with Rapper Akshay Sharma. (12.30pm – 1.30pm & 2pm – 3pm)
Street Dance – Show off your moves at our Street Dance workshops with Miss Pinky, from Pinky’s Dance Academy. (12.30pm – 1.30pm & 2pm – 3pm)
Performances (3.30pm – 4pm)
Dance performance by Helping Kids Achieve
Film screening by YARD Youth Theatre
Spoken word performance by James Sikora and Ella Burns Robin
Identity Crisis Party (4pm – 6pm)
Join the party with free food, music by DJ Zion, an open mic for spontaneous performances, and a pop up exhibition by Mansfield Road Youth Club.
