New Art Exchange was named runner up in the Best Visitor Attraction of the Year category at this year's Nottingham STARS Awards.

The award, which recognises the best in Nottinghamshire's tourism, culture, leisure and hospitality industries, was presented to the NAE team at a glittering ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham.

Chief Executive Skinder Hundal said it was a great honour to be named runner-up, especially considering the strength of Nottinghamshire's tourist attractions.

"It takes great confidence for an organisation to call itself a 'tourist attraction' and strive to attract international visitors. After five years of incredible growth, we think NAE has earned that confidence and are proud of this acknowledgement for both our team and the community of Hyson Green," he said.

Now in their eighth year, the aim of the Awards is to inspire the thousands of people who work in tourism in Nottinghamshire to achieve their very best. Thirty teams, businesses and individuals from across the county were shortlisted for the Awards.

Jennifer Spencer, Chief Executive of Experience Nottinghamshire, said the STARS Awards recognise and celebrate the people who make the tourism, culture, leisure and hospitality businesses in Nottinghamshire so special.

"These people make a difference by turning an average visitor experience into an exceptional one," she said.
