As well as seeing the latest art exhibition there is always plenty for families to do during a visit to NAE! All of our family events are free and everyone is welcome.

Saturday Art Club

Kick start your weekend with creative family fun! Drop in, Saturdays throughout the season from 10.30am until 12.30pm for free creative family fun inspired by the exhibition. Every session is different, with activities ranging from creating collages to building 3D artworks – plus a free family film screening. This coming season, we're showing The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales, an animated adventure about a misfit group of animals.

Holiday Workshops

Do you have a loud voice or a quiet whisper? Join professional acting coach Natalia Bruce to learn about acting and building your own performances for ages 7-10 and 11-16.

Resource Area

As well as our usual programme of fun-filled workshops and sessions for families at NAE, we also have a Family Resource Area and Activity Zone that can be explored at any time during opening hours.

Family Facilities

We have a family-friendly Café with comfy sofas, a children's menu and activity area, as well as provide bottle warming and facilities for nappy changing. There is step-free access to the Café and Main Gallery, as well as lift access to the Mezzanine Gallery.

Why not travel by tram? You can get unlimited travel for the day for 1 or 2 adults and up to 3 children for £5.
