NAE Everyday Superstars

Nottingham is full of amazing people who go that extra mile to make their community a better place. It's time to recognise and celebrate their contribution!

In spring 2019, we will be hosting an exhibition of work by Hassan Hajjaj. Hassan is famous for creating beautifully styled portraits which appear to feature rock stars or celebrities, when in fact the sitters are often everyday folks he admires or loves, elevated to 'superstar' status through his iconic imagery.

With your help, we want to unearth the everyday superstars in your lives! Nominate your local heroes and one individual will be immortalised in Hassan's Main Gallery exhibition via a uniquely styled photoshoot and portrait taken by the artist himself. All nominees will be invited to feature in a Central Gallery exhibition at NAE celebrating our community.

Who will you nominate? An activist campaigning for social change? A supporter of young people and their personal development? Someone who creates jobs and opportunities for disadvantaged communities? An individual who has accomplished incredible things in the face of adversity? Or simply a fantastically talented person who hasn't yet had the recognition they deserve? Whoever they are, and whatever you feel their strength is, we want to hear from you!
