Volunteering at NAE

Are you looking to improve your skills and employability while giving back to the community? We are constantly looking for people to volunteer as gallery invigilators, events and festival assistants, marketing and audience research assistants and more!

Why not become a part of the NAE volunteer team?

Volunteers provide valuable support to New Art Exchange. You will have the opportunity to get involved with our festivals and arts events; meet new people, including artists and performers; and discover more about our audiences.

Volunteers are asked to support NAE in a variety of overlapping roles:

Event  and General Support - Music Performances. Panel Discussions. Festivals. Theatre Performances. etc.

Family Friendly and Learning Support - Workshops for young people.

Marketing Support - Supporting with general marketing admin including conducting questionnaires and discussing visitor experiences during events.

Please note that is not possible to apply to volunteer in relation to one specific role. Volunteers join a central group and opportunities for different areas of work are shared with everyone.

I enjoyed the shifts I did at NAE during my final year if uni and getting to see behind the scenes in the gallery and would recommend the experience to any art students!
Naomi Turner, NAE Volunteer, 2019 1/4/2019

I have always loved art but this has been beyond that, it was culture and diversity and politics. Through the different jobs I helped with, marketing, exhibits, workshops and discussions, I feel it really helps round all I have experienced in the last year...Thank you for helping me see a very different side of Nottingham, and England in general, that I would not have seen had I not helped at the NAE.
- Branna Elenz, NAE Volunteer, 2016

I have thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at NAE. I developed some valuable and transferable skills. Putting the experience on my CV is great as I have been able to cite the experience in interviews
- Lydia Coles, NAE volunteer, 2014
