This is an exciting time to join the New Art Exchange as the gallery is moving through a period of change with ambitious plans for growth and expansion.
As the Chef and Cafebar Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the cafe team. You will be expected to oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, including menu development, food preparation, and customer service. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure that the cafe meets its financial targets while also aligning with the gallery’s mission and values. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a team in a unique and creative setting.
The ideal candidate for this role will have significant experience working as a chef, ideally with a focus on plant-based cuisine. You will have a proven track record of leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. A passion for sustainability and ethical food practices is highly desirable, as is experience with menu planning and inventory management. Finally, you should be able to work collaboratively with the wider NAE team, contributing to the growth and success of the gallery as a whole.
