IN SEARCH OF WHAT CONNECTS US: A DISCUSSION WITH ARTISTS FROM LACED ARTIST TALK / PANEL DISCUSSION

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 11 Dec, 2021 at 12:00 am

This is a panel discussion with some of the exhibiting artists in our current exhibition Laced: In Search of What Connects Us.’ Join us and hear from Simnikiwe Buhlungu, Lerato Shadi and Zohra Opoku. The conversation will be chaired by Lisa Anderson, consultant, curator, writer and Founder of Black British Art.

As a way of introducing Laced, Loren Hansi Gordon writes: “Criss crossing the Atlantic Ocean, oscillating North to Global Souths, Laced meditates on freedom, work, and the ethic of love in search of what connects us to ourselves, and each other. We are all connected. We are a network of interactions and exchanges…” This discussion will unpack the connections between the artists’ seemingly very different practices and what brings them together.

This event is free and will be streamed online via NAE’s YouTube channel. Booking is required so we can send you the streaming link, this will be sent on the day of the event.
