Testing-Ground

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 5 Dec, 2015 at 12:00 am

An event by New Art Exchange and Melanie Abrahams

Join us for an event exploring ways to create and nurture innovative literature projects in a new political and financial landscape. Have you got an idea you need help with or suggestions of how to get it off the ground? Are you looking for new connections, a sounding-board, encouragement and inspiration?

This opportunity is offered as a free event to creative professionals and the project is funded by Arts Council England, and supported by New Art Exchange.

You can come along as an audience member or put forward a proposal to be discussed with our panel of professionals (covering the arts and creative industries, business support, marketing, technology and social media, producing, project management, and professional development). We will consider 5 proposals and then open the floor for wider conversation.

Line-up

4pm – 5.15pm:
The event is introduced by Melanie Abrahams and young people (14-25 years) and adults have the opportunity to present their pitches

6pm – 6.30pm:
YARD Young People’s Theatre presents a sharing of their original work in progress: Diary Entry

6.30pm – 8.15pm:

‘It’s good being exposed to many different ideas. They were all very different but had a lot of commonality to them, a lot of new media – social media spaces, blogging, new platforms etc.’ Tom Hunter, past Panellist

‘It’s really inspiring and interesting, finding out what other people are doing in the arts and innovative ways of moving forward.’ Serenah Cole, past audience member.

Testing Ground is part of the Mentoring Three Ways project curated by Melanie Abrahams.
