The Red Project: Mrs B – A North Korean Woman

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 28 Nov, 2018 at 12:00 am

The Red Project presents this screening of Mrs B €“ A North Korean Woman, in association with POW Nottingham. While illegally leaving North Korea, Mrs. B. is sold by her smugglers to a Chinese farmer. She becomes a smuggler herself and engages in a struggle to reunite with her sons. The film will be followed by a Q&A aiming to open a discussion around the myths and misconceptions surrounding sex work and human trafficking, with speakers including POW’s Migrant Outreach
Coordinator, Diana Blaj.

This film is subtitled in English.

The Red Project aims to offering a fresh insight into the lives of sex workers through seasons of film, discussions and events. Too often, abuse perpetrated on sex workers is considered a minor issue for the media, the general public and even some feminists. The season aims to raise awareness amongst the public and care professionals of how stigmatised representations of sex workers can have a life-threatening impact upon them.

POW Nottingham is a non-profit, voluntary organisation supporting the rights of sex workers and those at risk of being exploited.
