Exhibition Launch: Akram Zaatari – The Script

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 12 Jul, 2018 at 12:00 am

Join us for the opening of The Script, a new exhibition by internationally renowned artist Akram Zaatari. The exhibition includes a new commission by New Art Exchange, based on the artist’s continuing observations of online societies. This new work, The Script, lends its title to the show, and is presented alongside the acclaimed installation, Dance to the End of Love, 2011, with formerly unpublished photographs from his Objects of Study project.

Akram Zaatari’s work is tied to researching and studying the photographic record in the context of modern Arab societies. The artist is interested in the active role that photography plays in processes of identification among people, what he describes as “performed identities”.

With complimentary drink on arrival, speeches and live DJ set from Truth and Lies Music.

Find out more about our new season of culturally rich activity including Abbas Zahedi’s Live Archive, a programme of performances and discussions that engage with faith-based rituals and artistic practices as part of the same act.
