New Art Exchange is planning to reopen on 19 October 2020 with the much-anticipated solo exhibition, Here by Phoebe Boswell.
We are looking forward to welcoming back our visitors, schools, artists, communities, team, collaborators and instigators to the building, but there will be some changes. We are working behind the scenes to implement a range of measures to make a visit to NAE as safe, comfortable, and inspiring as possible.
Our decision to open later in the autumn has been driven by a number of factors, including the heart-breaking fact that COVID-19 has had a disproportionate impact on people of colour and Black and Asian communities. Our priority is to keep our team and visitors as safe as possible. Our plans are subject to change, we will closely monitor the situation and act accordingly.
In the following weeks and months we will update you on the changes you can expect and further details of our event programmes, many of which will be delivered online.
Since we have been closed we have already adapted a number of our programmes and resources to be accessible online. Visit nae.org.uk for new videos from our Real Creative Futures Digital programme, family resources, virtual reality walkthroughs of past exhibitions, recent blogs and archive talks and events.
For the first time, Nottingham Arts Mela will be delivered entirely online, from 27 July – 23 August with the theme of Climate Changed, it takes the form of a digital festival exploring the South Asian journey through creative dialogues, music, dance, podcasts, and films.
