We’re looking for Young Producers for YOUnique Festival Take over

The YOUnique Programme is an opportunity to learn how to become a Festival and/or Event Producer. YOUnique enables you to join a group of like-minded individuals, share your ideas, nurture your creativity, develop your skills, and create impactful events within the arts.

You will learn all the key aspects of festival production and management and work with the NAE team, industry experts, and professional artists throughout the co-creation process.

You will receive specialist training and applied development opportunities. Working with the NAE team and the other members of the collective, you’ll work on the key themes, artists, and programme during a four-day festival takeover of New Art Exchange from 12 to 15 March 2025.

 

The Offer:

  • Specialist training tailored in arts and event production delivered by an experienced facilitator. Topics will include ; Event Planning/Management/Evaluation, Budgeting and Marketing.
  • Applied practice in professional contexts.
  • Visits to key arts events in the city/region if/when appropriate.
  • Building a team and collaborating with YOUnique Collective
  • Networking opportunities.
  • Individualised feedback from industry experts/NAE Team if/when appropriate.

For 2024, the Nottingham Mela program will feature as part of a city-wide season of activity called Transform. Transform represents a collaborative and transformative endeavour for all participating organisations in Nottingham. Together, we are co-curating a City-Wide Takeover event scheduled for Spring/Summer 2024. Our collective vision is to celebrate and amplify the leadership, creativity, and stewardship of the Global Ethnic Majority* in our city.

Desi Sounds is scheduled for Friday, 6 September 2024, 6-9 pm.

For this event, we are calling out to all emerging South Asian musicians, singers, rappers, comics (and more) to apply to perform at this event.
