Exchange is the global dimension of NAE’s developmental ecosystem.
Building on the foundations of Connect, Create, Cultivate and Transform, Exchange extends locally rooted leadership and creativity into reciprocal international partnerships. It amplifies the impact and reach of the Global Ethnic Majority across borders while remaining accountable to place and community.
Exchange ensures that international collaboration is not an end point but a continuation, strengthening ideas through shared learning, exchange and meaningful return.
Together, this work forms a connected system of exchange: assembling leadership, bridging creative practice and crossing ideas and work across borders.

Key Activities:
ASSEMBLE: Assemble brings together Global Ethnic Majority leaders and organisations committed to public voice and shared decision-making. Through reciprocal exchange, leaders embed within different contexts to share practice, challenge existing models and develop new approaches to leadership and power.
BRIDGE: Bridge supports artists from the Global Ethnic Majority through international residencies and cross-cultural collaboration.
Artists are given time, space and networks to develop their practice abroad while building sustained connections back to Nottingham. These exchanges deepen creative practice and expand global dialogue rooted in place and community.
CROSS: Cross enables the movement of work, ideas and programmes across borders through exhibitions, touring and collaborative programming. Working with partners who prioritise representation and public engagement, Cross connects audiences internationally and ensures artistic exchange is shared widely and meaningfully.
