John Akomfrah in Conversation

1 Jan, 1970 at 12:00 am - 26 Sep, 2019 at 12:00 am

John Akomfrah is a widely respected artist and filmmaker, whose works are characterised by their investigations into memory, postcolonialism and often explore the experiences of migrant diasporas globally.

Speaking with Skinder Hundal (CEO of NAE) and Jenny Waldman (Director of 14€”18NOW), Akomfrah will be discussing Mimesis: African Soldier. Reflecting on the long-ignored history of African soldiers and soldiers of colour from across the globe during the First World War, the piece fuses unique archival material with newly created footage.
