NATE IS THE NEW FACILITATOR FOR YOULEAD AND YOUNIQUE

We are pleased to announce Nate Wilson, founder of Mimm and Notts Street Food, will be the Facilitator for both NAE’s YOUlead and YOUnique programmes.

Nate has contributed culturally to the independent and creative fabric of the city by curating spaces, events and opportunities for over 15 years. Starting out as a DJ through his love of music in his late teens, he couldn’t get gigs in clubs, so he decided to set up his own event. This evolved into opening a retail shop selling clothing, music and art, which also acted as a hub for many young creatives for over a decade. Using the experience gained from music event promotion he decided to diversify in 2017 by setting up a Street Food events company which has given a platform to over 100 independent street food traders. Other notable works include Lush Life a Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival, Consultancy for Red Bull Music Academy at Nottingham Carnival, Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers and Nottingham Jamaican Independence Day annual celebration. Nate is currently working on a five-year project Our Yard an exploration into sound system culture and the positive impact immigration has had on the UK.

NAE has supported me in my development as a creative practitioner so it is great to have the opportunity to work with them to give back and empower the next generation, seeing more individuals like me from the global ethnic majority as producers and leaders is important for the further development and diversity of Nottingham as a City.” Nate Wilson
