Saad-Eddine Said appointed new Co-Chair of CVAN

New Art Exchange is excited to announce that Saad-Eddine Said, Artistic Director and Chief Executive at NAE has been appointed the new Co-Chair of CVAN (Contemporary Visual Arts Network).

CVAN is an organisation of national significance and works in partnership with its regional networks to campaign and advocate for the visual arts sector at a national level. The new co-chairing model represents a significant shift in CVAN’s governance structure and will develop the capacity to rise to the many challenges facing the visual arts sector. Saad’s experience of widening access and empowering marginalised communities to occupy their rightful place in the arts will be a great asset to CVAN.

Responding to his appointment Saad (Saad-Eddine Said, Co-Chair, CVAN and Artistic Director and Chief Executive, New Art Exchange) said “I am extremely excited to join CVAN as Co-Chair alongside Sarah Munro. CVAN’s work for a more fair and equitable visual arts sector is urgently needed. I look forward to leading vital conversations so that equality and diversity are endorsed as an uncompromised and key pillar within the visual arts sector and beyond.”

Welcoming Saad’s appointment, Sarah (Sarah Munro, Co-Chair, CVAN
Director, BALTIC, Centre for Contemporary Art) said “We are responding to the toughest challenges the sector has ever faced. The opportunity to work alongside Saad, with his drive to change the conversation of who owns our public galleries and who occupies them is exciting and signals a progressive step forward for CVAN.”
